Hi,

how do I manage to backup all of my apps and saved data before doing a firmware update? There are apps that store their data in a special section of the system memory, so I wonder how I can save and restore that.

I do not have root access, so is there a way?

So I did a lot of research and I if my understanding is right, the T1020H is a Spreadtrum device, hence using the SPD Research tool for flashing it.

Apparently you can also backup your system and user files along with the stock boot.img by using the same tool. Some guidelines can be found here:

https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-31800.html and https://www.droidwin.com/backup-unisoc-spreadtrum-firmware-research-download-tool/?

If you are are more familiar with the whole thing it looks as if you then can modify your boot.img to accept a TWRP image and root it.
