Hi, Louco, all I received from service@alldocube.com was: If the network you are connecting to is an ordinary wifi (non-complex AP hotspot or mesh network), it is recommended that you reset the wifi of the machine or restore the factory to the factory and check it again. In addition, if conditions permit, you can check whether the wifi you are using has a mac. Address and IP related settings

I amusing WiFi on different locations and networks, from personal to corporate, with different settings. All other Android devices work, just this Tablet reports same issuses anywhere. I stopped using it and just hope that someone from Alldocube will understand the problem and find the solution (firmware update). Will buy another brand since I need my tablet to work.

Wow! I bought this tablet 2 days ago (Iplay 40 Pro). I suffer exactly the same problems. Almost excellent tablet, but unusable because of this stupid problem. I’m going to return it to the store. 😡

I have exactly the same issue too, having just bought an AllDoCube iPlay 40 Pro since a week ago.  but luckily I  have just found a workaround.

I have tried connecting to my Wifi6 router (Huawei Wifi AX3 Pro) using Wifi 5 mode (i.e. the Wifi5 SSID) it has worked fine without any issue. Other than some slight compromises in network speed it is working fine so far.

What was your workaround? @PianoTutor

Hi, my experience is that this tablet does not work in dual band networks (2.4/5GHz) since switching from one to another frequency causes virtual credentials lost (network password) and reports that your settings don’t match. I’ve performed many tests and this is the reason – switching from one frequency to another in modern WiFi networks. Can not confirm that reverting from WiFi6 (802.11ax) to WiFi5 (802.11ac) solves this, but for sure it might help since WiFi5 is 5 GHz technology only and there is no reverting to 2.4Ghz in case of low signals. 5GHz frequency has much higher attenuation than 2.4GHz, so it might not work for you on some distant spots to your WiFi router/modem.

For tablet use inside your home with administrative access to the router settings, you can split 2.4Ghz and 5GHz to separate networks, e.g. one with SSID myssid24 and the other myssid5 (set Band steering setting to OFF and configure each frequency separately). Then decide, which devices at your home will be registered to one or to both networks. Alldocube tablet MUST be associated to only ONE of them (I strongly suggest 2.4GHz since the WiFi part of this tablet has quite bad WiFi radio performance). Then it will work.

But when you move to other location with dual band WiFi, probably also to WiFi4 (802.11n, dual band) e.g. at your workplace, school etc. then better FORGET to use this tablet. It will also “destroy” corporate networks associations with certificates, which can not be reconfigured easily on your tablet.

A summary: this tablet forces you to lower the quality of your home network and makes it impossible to be used on modern dual frequency networks.

Now you know. Geekbuying offered me a possibility to return the tablet and receive a refund, but I will rather use it for smashing flies around the apartment or use it as a kitchen cutting utensil. 🙂

Will never again think of buying an Alldocube device (very bad support, no OTA updates, no “what’s new” description for firmwares where even dates and versions do not match). So sorry to all of you, my “brothers in arms”..

I tried this app because it helped with another device before:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softmediacts.wifiswitch

When moving to another node of my mesh, the IPLAY40H would quickly disconnect and then connect successfully. Almost seamless if I wasn’t monitoring it.

Need to grant the app not just the permission “when using the app” but “always”. Else it would not work in the background. At least now I don’t have to manually connect my wifi.

Are you able to install?

That was the only one I tried that works and does not need root.

Perhaps ignore the message that it was for older Android version and try first. Remember to allow it to auto start and run in background. And also enable the “switch between same SSID” because that is the problem to fix.
